The vex material lists the Steel parts as Cold Rolled. IIRC, this adds some strength to it.. but I'm not a mechanical engineer...

I am "Old School", having learned 'C' in 1988, ( meaning I have a Bias ) but that is my Opinion as Well. Some of the desired features of C++, ( like Public and Private members and data ) can be done...

I have been thinking about this with Vex, before the Cortex was available... Adding Storage to either the Serial Ports, or through the Digital I/O Ports..

There is a certain amount of time required for each Function Call to PTS ( or any other Function ), but the program in the Cortex runs much faster than the Characters can be sent across the Serial...

After using the Vex Robotics systems for almost 7 years, and the Prolific USB-to-Serial Adapter for almost 11 years, I would put the some if not all the Blame on the Prolific Drivers..
