Thumbs up Answered: Power Pack Confusion

I accidentally installed the 9 Volt rechargeable power pack into the Vex Controller yet everything worked fine. Is the Vex Controller protected for > 7 Voltages? The Vex RC servos and motors worked fine with this battery pack.
