Re: Whats the highest robot skills and programming skills scores you've seen so far?

Right now we are making 58 points in Robot Skills THE RIGHT WAY, not scoring both colored cubes. So we should be ok.

Re: Whats the highest robot skills and programming skills scores you've seen so far?

I'll prognosticate:

Robot Skills

If you score all the easily-available cubes (non-autoloader) in all eight goals, mount the platform, and flip the cube just right, you get 60 points. It will take 60 points to win in Dallas. If someone finds that crucial extra few seconds to get a cube or three from the loader, the winning score will be between 61 and 65. No one will score more than 65 (and, while it's possible, I don't think anyone will score more than 60). I predict a multiple-team tie for 60.

Programming Skills

This is a harder prediction, but the most obvious winning strategy will yield a maximum of 42 points. That's seven cubes in five goals, plus the platform, plus the bonus cube. I think 47 is theoretically possible, but it would take world-beating line-following combined with some great dead reckoning to do it. My prediction is that the winner will have either 37 or 42.

Now let's see the teams prove me wrong!

For Second place. There are too many good teams that will be able to score more than 60. One is from the Great White North.

I think that this might be a little too high. I'm looking for the winning points to be 25 - 35.

We'll see....
