Using the VEX Motor Controller 29 - ROBOTC Blog

Product Information

  • The VEX Motor Controller 29 uses a standard PWM signal (like that originating from the 3-wire ports on VEX Microcontrollers) to drive a VEX 2-Wire Motor. Motor Controllers are required to use 2-Wire Motors with the PIC Microcontroller V0.5. The Cortex and ARM9 Microcontrollers come with some 2-Wire motor connections. Motor Controllers can be used to add additional 2-Wire Motors to these microcontrollers.
  • See the product page for more information.

Technical Specifications

  • Each VEX Motor Controller 29 can drive one 2-Wire Motor
  • Max current: 4 A
  • Max battery voltage: 8.5V (with fully charged 7.2V battery)
  • PWM Input: 1-2ms will give full reverse to full forward, 1.5ms is neutral, 200µs for brake mode (like neutral, but motor terminals shunted together). Brake mode may not be supported by your compiler.
  • Input Cables: Black Wire - Ground, Orange Wire - Power, White Wire - PWM Signal
  • Output Cables: Red and Black Wires - Motor Connection
