General Information

Team 254A is the oldest of the 254 VEX teams, which first competed in the 2008 FIRST Tech Challenge as Team 567. Relying mostly upon private donations and personal savings, the team far surpassed its original '08 expectations, winning a tournament, seeding second at another, and seeding fourth in Franklin Division at the World Championship. This initial success opened up many more resources, making multiple VEX teams a reality for the first time ever.

Upon FIRST's decision to switch to a new robotics platform in 2008, the team transitioned to the VEX Robotics Competition for the 2009 season, and helped found the other 254 VRC teams. Under its new team number, 254A achieved great success, culminating in the World Championship CREATE Award.

With its regular 2010 season complete, 254A has been fortunate enough to receive 21 qualifications to World Championships, including eight tournament victories and four Excellence Awards. We look forward to meeting old friends at the 2010 World Championship.

For the most part, this is a summarized, textual version of the "official" 254A page. Please refer to the main 254 page for more general team history, sponsors, and links to our other teams.
