History
Team 254C was founded at the start of the 2008 - 2009 Elevation season by students at Bellarmine College Prep; none of its original members had any prior experience with Vex and very few were familiar with robotics as a whole.
254C continually performed well at its tournaments, reaching the quarterfinal round in its first competition. At the 2009 world championship, 254C seeded 11th and captained an alliance which reached the divisional quarterfinals.
Since the beginning of 254C's competition history, it has been the unfortunate victim of radio interference for reasons still not fully discovered; a hindrance that now ceases to exist with the recent adoption of a Wi-Fi control system.
254C kicked off with an unexpected start in the 2009-10 season reaching the semifinal and final rounds in its first two consecutive tournaments, while also qualifying for the World Championship with a victory in Programming Skills.
It won its first tournament victory at the All Star Championship in Orlando, FL competing as 254S and its second at the Central Valley Regional the following weekend. 254C gained its place as one of the most successful VEX teams in the world with its third victory at the 2nd largest robotics tournament in the world, the 2nd Annual Pan Pacific Championship in Hawaii. And, most recently, the team surprisingly won a local regional playing in the final match against our good friends team 254A, giving the second rendition of our robot its first qualification.
