What are the criteria to get to sate in Turning point? My team is wonder what we need to do to get to state. We already know that people who get first place go to state, as well as the excellence award and skills fist place, but is there any other things that get you to state?

If you are looking to qualify for your state/regional championship, Tournament champions, Tournament Finalists, Robot Skills Champion, and Excellence and Design award usually all qualify for state.
If you want to be 100% sure about whether an award will qualify you, check the "awards" tab on the event page of Robotevents. It will say so there:

    Hope this helps!

Depends on the state and competition, it's different literally everywhere. You should be able to see what awards qualify you to your state competition in the awards tab on RobotEvents.

Usually, however, the following awards will qualify you:

    1. Excellence
    2. Tournament Champions
    3. Design Award
    4. Robot Skills Champion (sometimes)
  4. GB11

@Incognitos Depending on the size of the event, the Design Award can be the final qualifying award outside of Excellence and Tournament Champions.

Keep in mind, in some states the design award will not qualify you. For example, in Colorado, it does not.

this, and time. my team had a month to redesign a horrible robot, that burned out constantly. we worked down to the competition day, and we ended up qualifying for states with tournament champions

also finalists do as well at larger tournies

  10. Always do skills, in the case of a double qualification at your event the highest ranked skills teams who are not qualified should get the bid to state.
Also depending on your state if all the spots are not filled by the end of the season they will fill remaining spots based on skills rankings. Good luck!
