Change Up Teaser

Hello everyone! We’re a freshman team from Michigan and we’d like to share a quick teaser of our robot before we compete at Grandville this weekend. Our robot has a 600 and 1800 rpm ball system, 200 rpm motor cartridges in our X-drive, and an actuating intake with a 200 rpm cartridge as well. This is version 2 of our robot and we’d love to hear any feedback. If you have any questions either contact me or @Ian-10452A

instead of putting your video in a zip file, you should upload it to either youtube or some file sharing service like google drive.

Ok, thanks we didn’t see that.

The way you use your hood I think it very interesting because you more of use it to defect it into the goal but that does slow down how fast you could cycle

IDK I can’t even view the video

Yeah no offense but I’m not downloading a zip file on vex forums from a guy I don’t know lol. I’d love to see the vid but don’t wanna get smacked by a zip bomb

When we were testing hood designs we found that if we directed rather than deflected the ball it would kill its momentum and we wouldn’t be able to score it. Come to think of it though at that point in time our ball system ran on 200 rpm cartridges, so we can probably look at changing the design after our first competition now that the rollers run at either 600 or 1800 rpm

looks like a great build.

only thing that stands out to me is the hood. having a flat surface that balls just ricochet off of like that isn’t ideal, I would experiment with a curved hood if I were you.

yeah. We plan on coming back to that after our first comp. Ian and I could have probably spent a bit more time on it.

Yeah we can intake from the middle goal. But, we need to actuate before so we can go around the post.
