Today I got my best run ever! 172 Points in Driver Skills. Spent an hour and a half today trying different things to try and achieve this 172.

Edit - I am currently working on programming for state. Our state is this Saturday, the Indiana State Competition. It is skills only.
Nice job!!! I would really recommend gearing up that drivetrain, as it seems like you are capable of controlling it st higher speeds. This would easily let you score much higher, but seeing that your states is on this saturday… maybe not the best idea…

We have a repetition of rebuilding our robot a day before state. We tried 5:2 but it needed to work up speed, so making it ineffective… Do you have any recommendations?
I recommend not building anything new 2 weeks before states. It is better to try making smaller adjustments, like to your code. A small drive train speedup would probably fall under smaller adjustments as well.
Well said Milo. I cannot agree more. The worst thing you can do is rebuild before States. Then you have to practice driving and reprogramming the robot.
1:2 (geared for speed) is the most popular, (and arguably the best) drivetrain speed.
