This should be cheep to do, precut 1x1x1 angles from the 1x1x35 angles with the zinc coating.
Are you thinking of 1x1x1 C-channel? That’s pretty tight to get fasteners inside.
I think he is talking about a simple ‘L’ bracket - just a 1/2" length of this:

(ANG-RR11-35-4PK)
They could sell them in 4 or 8 packs like the gussets.

If it’s small parts you need, go find an Erector Set (Erector, SteelTec, Meccano). These are all FULLY compatible with vex. The hole spacing is the same, Erector nuts can fit Vex bolts, and even some of the tools are compatible. So far, I’ve bought 2 or 3 sets. The structure of Nelson III is about 1/2 SteelTec parts. And since these sets are less popular, they usually cost less, too.
Happy building!
(p.s.- they may not be zinc coated, but they work just as well)
If you cut the http://www.vexrobotics.com/images/vex-metal/bar-35-iso.gif P/N: BAR-25-8PK with tin snips after every second hole and bend it at right angles between the holes I believe you will get what you want with very little effort.
ianrab - I have Erector set, Meccano, Marklen Metal sets all have the same type of part but is thin gage steel.
ChrisHam - I would like a part with a 90 degree bend witch is very hard to make by hand.
I live in Michigan and have high humidity giving RUST.
Ah, now I understand what you are looking for. Take a piece of square bot chassis rail and hacksaw (Dremel, bandsaw) it into half-inch pieces. You now have a bunch of brackets one hole wide. If you worry about the cut edges rusting, get some metal-friendly paint and touch up the edges.
I don’t mean to put words in whitepass’s mouth, but he clearly knows how to make 1x1x1 angle brackets from larger stock. He isn’t asking how to do this; he is suggesting this as an idea for a new product.
Personally, I’d buy a few packs of these because it is a fairly common shape to need, and pre-cut edges are always cleaner than hacksawed edges.

Yes, but what would we do with the 20 pounds of teeny-tiny cutoffs we have laying around?
Having just cut my first Vex metal part, I would gladly pay to have precut parts!
