Seeing the best configuration for any v5 robot will be at most two motors for the base, how on earth would one build an x drive that only uses 2 motors? I know the best drive would be the tank, but I’m curious.
A pain, but doable. You can create holonomic drives with a single motor, though that’s even more ridiculous. Three motors would be far easier than two. One basic idea is to have a gear shift of some sort to switch how the motors turn the wheels. I doubt all that gearing would be worth it, though.
