2013 VEX Discontinued Products

We’re doing some housecleaning at VEX Robotics and part of that is an evaluation of our product line and discontinuing of some products.

This is part of our ongoing effort to further streamline the VEX product line, reduce logistical over-head resulting from low-volume items, and provide a stronger VEX customer experience through a simplified set of product offerings.

These items have been discontinued, some are available while supplies last:

278-1128 - Tri-Pack Bundle
275-1117 - Advanced Metal Kit
275-1118 - Advanced Motion Kit
275-1119 - Advanced Hardware Kit

We recommend the Booster Kit and Metal & Hardware Kit as replacement items for the kits above.

Though we’re all sad to see it go, it is time to announce we are officially discontinuing the VEX 2-Wire Motor 269 (276-2181).

It will remain available for a brief time, as we have limited supplies remaining.

At the same time, we’re happy to announce we are decreasing the price of the VEX 2-Wire Motor 393 (276-2177). This item is dropping in price from $19.99 to $14.99.

If we recently purchased 11 393s, would we be able to get the 55$ credited back to us?

I doubt it :(.

My team in the last 2 weeks purchased like 20 393s and I am not holding by breath about any sort of reimbursement.

I notice the 269 IMEs are still being sold. Are they not being discontinued?

I mean, I’d be more than happy if we got like vex site credit or something. Most of our motors are even still in the boxes.

Then return them?!?!?!

If you go to a store and buy a bunch of things that they discount later, you can’t expect them to give you money. Some stores will go above and beyond, and might do this, but from an online transaction, I wouldn’t get your hopes up.

If you returned them, (which I don’t know the VEX return policy,) you should get $220 back. Then you could buy 15 for almost the same price.

Any idea what happened to the 1x2x1x15 and 1x2x1x15 c-channels?

They’re still listed on the Booster Kit page, but they don’t appear to be on the C-Channels page anymore. Would hate to see these go too.

What do you need them for? Why not just run a 25 or 35 piece on a bandsaw or chopsaw for 10 seconds?

Woops, meant to say 1x2x1x15 and 1x2x1x25. We’ll probably end up cutting the 17.5" ones. It’d just be nice to not have to worry about cutting things down to size and then having different-sized pieces to deal with.

These C-Channels have only been available in the Booster Kit, not sold as individual products. They will continue to be included in the kit.

Best,
Ricky

Because we like to recycle parts from robot to robot, from project to project, and from year to year, and it’s really hard to un-cut something.
