2013 VEX Mid-Atlantic Championship

The 2013 VEX Robotics Mid-Atlantic Championship (VMAC) is scheduled for Saturday March 9th at the Carroll County Ag Center, Shipley Arena in Westminster, MD. This is our fourth year for the event. Registration is open and teams who plan to attend should complete their paid registration as soon as possible. The 2013 VMAC is designated a Level 5 event under the RECF World Championship Criteria (http://content.vexrobotics.com/epdocs/2013_VRWC_QualifyingCriteria.pdf) .

If your teams plan to attend please complete your paid registration as soon as possible. The link to the listing on Robot Events is: http://www.robotevents.com/robot-competitions/vex-robotics-competition/northwest-maryland-vex-robotics-competition-3.html

The VEX Mid-Atlantic Championship website has been updated and can be found at:
www.midatlanticvex.org.

Registration is open until January 30th, however we are asking teams to complete their paid registration as soon as possible. Planning a large, entirely volunteer-run event is much easier when we have a good estimate of the number of participating teams by early January. The typical last minute registration surge before the deadline makes ordering materials and arranging for enough equipment and volunteers very challenging.

Mid-Atlantic Region VEX Robotics Teams-

This is a reminder that registration for the 2013 VEX Robotics Mid-Atlantic Championship (March 9th) closes in just over two weeks, on January 31st. While it may seem early to you, we need to finalize our registration numbers at the end of January so that we can finalize the event details. If your team(s) plan to attend please be sure to complete your paid registration online at RobotEvents.com by no later than January 31st. The link to the Mid-Atlantic Championship RobotEvents listing is: http://www.robotevents.com/robot-competitions/vex-robotics-competition/northwest-maryland-vex-robotics-competition-3.html

The Mid-Atlantic Championship is held at the Shipley Arena of the Carroll County Ag Center, in Westminster, MD. The event is a great opportunity for teams from a Mid-Atlantic Region to come together and see teams that they normally do not see at local events. The regional championship events held around the country on the weekend of March 9th are the last opportunity to qualify for the2013 VEX Robotics World Championship. We hope to qualify a large number of teams, but this is dependent on final registration numbers. For qualification details please see the RECF World Championship Qualification Criteria at: http://content.vexrobotics.com/epdocs/2013_VRWC_QualifyingCriteria.pdf

Oh man, i can’t wait for this year’s Mid-Atlantic Championships! Last years was so much fun! It helps that these events are so well organized too!

Thank you!

Your team(s) are not signed up yet, so be sure the person who manages your team registrations completes your paid registration soon!

I agree with Austin. I LOVE the competitions at the Ag center. The power outlets are SO conveniently placed.

And how the last competition at the Ag center had the Antique show going on at the same time. I laughed so hard. It was COMPLETELY ironic.

And we know we aren’t registered yet. It will get done soon. We were busy planning our competition that we haven’t got to it yet. But we will soon.

This is a friendly reminder that teams have one week left to register! We need to finalize registration numbers so that event details and materials/equipment requirements can be finalized.

This Saturday, March 9th, 60 teams from the Mid-Atlantic region will be competing for the title of VEX Robotics Mid-Atlantic Champions and for some of the last invites to the 2013 VEX Robotics World Championship.

Qualification matches start at 9AM and run until approximately 4:30 PM. After alliance selection the Elimination Matches will run until approximately 7:30 PM.

The event will be webcast at: http://www.ustream.tv/channel/vex-mid-atlantic-championship

The rankings and scores will posted on the RobotEvents.com event listing: [http://www.robotevents.com/robot-competitions/vex-robotics-competition/northwest-maryland-vex-robotics-competition-3.html

Thank you to all of our sponsors and the people who have worked to make this event possible for the 4th year in a row!](http://www.robotevents.com/robot-competitions/vex-robotics-competition/northwest-maryland-vex-robotics-competition-3.html)

Wow, late running event. Makes it possible for me to catch most of the matches though! Very exciting day for vex, with BCIT, VMAC, US Nationals, and quite a few other tournaments all on the same weekend and being webcasted.

Yeah man! If i wasn’t going to Mid-Atlantics, I’m not sure which i would watch lol. I might even have to bring my laptop to keep up with results!

Just a reminder!

Everything is set up and ready to go! Thank you to our awesome setup crew! Doors open at 7 AM for teams. The matches start at 9 AM. For those with smartphones VEXvia should be tracking the scores.

Having a webcast computer issue. Will be up shortly.

Webcast is up!

Wow, this was a great event! All of the members of 944 would like to thank you guys for hosting the event and showing us all a fantastic time! Congrats to all of the award winners and i can’t wait to those of you who have qualified at worlds!

A HUGE thank you to all the volunteers that made this event a success! Everything ran on time, everyone was fed, Refs made good calls, many Judges sweated the details to make the correct decisions, fields operated flawlessly and teams had a great time. We ran 116 qualification matches on two fields, at a 3 1/2 minute spacing, giving each team 8 qualification matches. Two hours after the event closed everything was torn down, packed up, hauled to the storage facility and put away. What an outstanding group of volunteers!

Thank you to Northrop Grumman for being a Mid-Atlantic Championship sponsor for the fourth year in a row! Their sponsorship helped lower the registration cost for teams.
