I have been analyzing some posts by official vex folks, and I came across this VEXmas tree with a blurred office. Its blurred, so theres something in it.
In the middle right, there is something that is very suspiciously shaped like a vex IQ field, with yellow poles and red tower thingies on it.
And in the bottom right, there appears to be 2 vex robots. Neither of these robots are any previous kind of Hero bot, and the IQ robot features gen 2 competition kit parts, so it must be fairly new. And even though the rubber band intake looks familiar, it is too low to the ground to be for pitching in.
Any feedback?
This is correct. This was a robot designed to play the 2020 FTC Game, which was more or less VRC legal, and used to drive sales of VEX parts for FTC. The IQ robot to its right is simply a prototype version of that robot.
there’s also what looks very much like a vrc field in the image as well, but without any discernable game peices or field elements, kind of just looks empty with various junk all over it.
Having been in the building on several occasions there would never be a field for an unreleased game out in the open office like that. There are however several tables of Hexbug and VEX by Hexbug things always out.
I think you’re on to something. If they’re true intention was to show off the object, then they wouldn’t even have bothered to blur it. They would just move the object to an inconspicuous place. In fact, that would probably be easier. The fact that they took the picture in plain view of the field and the two robots shows that the leak is intentional.
but once again, intentional leaks are only just teasers. Guessing next year’s game purely on observations of the game board will get you and advantage, but still not very far.
What is blurred is VEX GO competition prototypes. VEX GO competition is now released and available for purchase.
The VRC and VIQC new game prototypes are very secure location and there is no possible way they would end up in the background of any photo taken at IFI or the RECF.
