Here is a quick update on how 323Z and 323X fared at the Warren competition. There were roughly 85 teams at the competition, with two divisions.
323Z
5-0, number one seed. They selected 1193A and 4417B. With this alliance, they went on to win the tournament.
They also won both skills.
**323X
3-2, finished in 13th. After a rough start (we tipped in autonomous one match and missed another), we were selected by the number one seed, 5003 (thanks guys!). Our third alliance team was 323B. We went to the finals and lost to 323Z.
Once we get the videos on YouTube we will post the link.**
323Z did pretty well. We could have done so much better in the eliminations, but we are happy with our sucess.
We scored 76 in Robot Skills (no launching or hanging). We are happy with that. We did AWFUL in Programming Skills. We scored 15 points in the stash, then our sensors went crazy. We have a 50 point one working at our HQ, but it never works perfectly at competitions. We won both skills challenges.
Just a question. How many skills try’s do you all get at your competitions? Our past two competitions, we have had a max of 3 try’s.
As Daniel323X said, we went 5-0. We ended up 1st in our Division, went on to win that (with major difficultly in the Finals) and ended up beating our co-partners and friends in the Competition Finals.
The robotevents.com page has not been updated, so I do not have the scores for all of them.
I can tell you that we WILL be launching, and possibly low hanging by our next competition. Hanging is not a large priority right now, unless we have good alliance partners.
I am pretty happy with our success so far. We have won skills 6 times, tournament champions twice, and one excellence award so far!

You said that 323Z was the first seed and they picked 1193A and 4417B. Then you said that you were selected by the first seed. I’m just curious, who were you picked by (which seed)?
That I must say is pretty slick! Great job, but why did you not attempt to knock down the second large ball? It looks like you might have time and a 20 point autonomous would be pretty tough to beat! I am sure the 15 points would win most of the time though…
Oh yes Most of the time though, objects would be on our tile, and if I move our robot, objects would move to. We did however do it a few times. Here is the complete 20 point autonomous: http://youtu.be/1-vFyFdrZdQ
I would have to agree. This autonomous combined with a good hanging zone autonomous is pretty hard to beat. We are pretty proud of this autonomous! It never failed at stashing a large ball!
Great job guys! Knew who’d win this one from the beginning no joke… and I think 323x 5003 and 323b knocked us out of eliminations in the first rounds. grumble grumble
haha yes. Blue scored WAY more points than us, but they were DQ’d for possessing more than 3 bucky’s in autonomous. They scored the bucky’s SO fast because they had most of them right by the stash (unlike us). That’s how they filled the stashes so much faster.
The large ball knocking device is only used in autonomous because that’s really only when the large balls are on the bar.
I wish they didn’t regenerate the match list! Would’ve finally played against you - I don’t think I’ve done so and played with 7708 and 7701, if memory serves.
Yea, that was pretty (again, pretty) annoying. I am pretty sure we were with each other though. I could be wrong, as I only looked at the schedule for a couple seconds.
The first schedule was the best Hopefully we don’t have to go through the same deliema again?!?
