Hey guys! I’m Luke Rohler, previously on 323X Blackout.
One of my main roles on Aftershock this year is to promote our team as well as produce resources for new and developing teams. Before we get to the giveaway, I’d like to share with you some really exciting things that we’re planning on doing this year.
Aftershock has always been motivated by not only trying to achieve excellence and perform well, but also by inspiring and helping new and developing teams. That’s why for the 2014-2015 Skyrise season, we will be starting up weekly blog updates for the first time since Sack Attack. Our website is also going to have new and really helpful resources to go along with the blog posts.
One of the other main things we’re planning on doing is regularly releasing videos on our YouTube channel. We’re hoping to release between 2 and 4 videos each month. This will include team vlogs, tutorials, promotional videos for our team, and our team matches. We’ll also be answering any questions you might have in some of the videos. In order to ask a question, email us at [email protected] or post it on this thread. We actually just released the first vlog today, so please go and check it out!
Now for the giveaway:
We’re hoping that over the coming season we will be able to share a lot of information and become a well known and well utilized resource for new and growing teams. But to make that possible, we need a larger audience. That’s why, in order to promote our YouTube channel, when we hit 700 subscribers we will give away one of our team banners, 25 of our custom team frisbees, and release our Skyrise robot CAD on the forum. Click on the YouTube banner below to subscribe:
Thanks for reading and good luck this season!

P.S. If you have any video ideas that you would like to request, please post them here.
Wow great ideas here. The vlog is hilarious so keep up the good work. It’d be cool for after each competition you go to, you do vlogs the whole time and keep us up to date with your strategies, mechanical issues, and different things like this throughout the video.
They have the same basic design, biohazard logo front center, text wrapping around the edges, but the frisbees them self are WAY cooler Different colors, shades, etc. There are some really cool color mixes and glow-in-the-dark frisbees!
Yes, that is something I noted after watching the final cut. We will make those changes in the next video vlog! Thank you for your input. Oh, instead of using an old crappy iPhone 4s, we are going to try and use either an iPhone 5C, or our team camera.
Haha yes. We thought we should kick off the video with something, well, funny and interesting You guys get to see the “true” side of 323z!

Thank you all for your comments! It really does help. Good luck to all this year!
Tomorrow at 12:00 PM, our weekly team vlog will be released. I apologize for how late its getting out; I made a total of 3 videos this week and was swamped the whole week with stuff to do.
Watch for another post on here sometime tomorrow or Monday announcing our weekly season update blog post.
We’re going to have videos of both our robots and our IQ teams robots coming out through our email updates. If you want to get access to these videos, you will HAVE to be signed up for the email updates. Go to team323z.com to sign up for the email updates. You won’t be disappointed!
I’m going to do my best to be accomodating, so if you have any questions or comments about stuff we’re doing, please post them on this thread. Also, if you have video suggestions, we will be doing request videos as well in the near future. I’d like to see this thread turn into a really active thread. All we need now are some requests
I apologize for the delay in the team blog. Much of the blog was based off of photos we took, and I haven’t been able to get access to the photos, hence no blog yet. It will be up either tomorrow or Saturday assuming I can get the photos.
Since I don’t have access to the needed photos, I don’t have access to the needed videos for the team vlog either. That will be going up at the same time as the blog.
Tutorials will be starting shortly! Request what type of tutorials you would like on this thread (coding, drives, lifts, intakes, building techniques, etc.) and we will do our best to accomodate.
I wouldn’t mind seeing a double reverse 4 bar tutorial. I realize there are tons out there but as it is the only lift i havent really built, I would like to learn some good strategies to constructing a sturdy one.
Exciting news! The third team vlog will be going up at precisely 12:00 PM EST tomorrow, September 21st. The team blog will go up at the same. Great information and media on both this week! In the mean time, please go check out our YouTube channel and subscribe if you haven’t already.
Thanks for your support of our team and our efforts!
