3D Printable Barrier Replacements - Purdue SIGBots

Hi All!
The Purdue SIGBots have hosted 2 VRC competitions, with our VexU competition this week, and have been having lots of barrier pieces break during this time. Although we’ve heard that you are able to get these replaced, we found it was easiest to just 3D print our own replacements. We’ve shared these with some people but figured we would make a post for everyone.

Below are 2 pieces of the barrier that we remodeled to be better suited for 3D printing. We’ve been running these on our personal practice field, and have not managed to break them.

Barrier Center:

Barrier End Cap:

3D Printing:
4 Perimeters, 3 Top/Bottom Layers, 20% Infill (we run this with PLA and no issues)

I know it is late in the season but I hope this can help some people.

I posted a Q&A for these yesterday, and it was ruled now that they’re able to be used in competitions if needed. Congratulations EPs everywhere!

@bkahl would you be able to rename this post? Either remove “not” or just take out all of “Not Comp Legal”. Whatever you think is best.

This is awesome, thanks! Is there any chance you’ve created the tee piece that holds the elevation bar? Ours just snapped over the weekend and we need it to send with the team hosting skills at state.
