3D Printed VRC License Plates

Hi everyone,

Here is a link to a 3D printable license plate file I created: Printables. It is fully parametric and is available for any and all V5RC teams to use. Please let me know if you have any issues printing it.

Please note that the files have already been adjusted to accommodate 3D printers with 0.4mm nozzles. If you intend to resin print this file, please use Fusion 360’s timeline tool to remove the modifications to the mounting holes.

Greetings,

I have 3D modeled a VRC key chain for 3D printing for anyone who is interested in carrying a bit of VEX swag on their person. Please note, a future version of the Parametric license plate file will be released in mid September which will allow for a roughly 35mm x 40mm logo.

UPDATES!!!

I am happy to present an updated version of the parametric VRC license plate!

This version includes a spot for a logo which can be inserted using the sketch>insert>svg function in Fusion 360. The license plate has been extended for this reason, but the new mounting holes align with standard c-channels!

Please contact me if you have any questions, comments, or suggestions for future iterations. Also, please note that this file can be printed on 3D printers without an automated material system! A YouTube tutorial will be published in early October.

Finally, I would love to see your teams’ custom license plates and I would appreciate if you to created a Printables account to post pictures of your prints.

Greetings,

The YouTube tutorial has been delayed due to scheduling conflicts. Since we want this tutorial to be as thorough as possible, what CAD programs would you like us to include? Currently we plan to cover Adobe Illustrator, Fusion 360, TinkerCAD, and OnShape. Please let me know if you would like us to add in Canva, Inkscape, and Inventor.

HELP NEEDED

Greetings,

I am actively working on the tutorial for modeling and slicing 3D printed license plates. I would like to have a few examples of different logos in the video. If you’re interested in your team’s logo being featured, please reply with your team number and a jpg or png of your logo.
