I have a question. I’m making a 4 bar lift and I want to know how to make it better. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Well, what’s wrong with it?
Also, pictures would be helpful. Using washers should help too.
Use bearings
Make sure its parallel(not trying to troll - we failed to make ours parallel for the first 1000 times we built it in skyrise)
Don’t tighten the joints too much either, there is a slim margin where it is not too loose but not too tight. This cuts down on friction and makes the system better as a whole.
Dont forget to attach them using screws AND nuts.
Yes.
Actually a prefer to use vex pegs or whatever they are called. Much lighter. Maybe even zip ties if i run out of pegs.
Use bolts instead of axles unless you need to drive them
Run rubber bands between the two bars so the weight lifted is dispersed. On the other hand, if its only purpose is to lift 1 cone then you should be fine without them.
Use shoulder screws (with washers) for moving joints.
Nothings wrong it’s just that my team is making a 4 bar and I need help building it and know how it looks like.
I don’t have any pictures either.
Also thanks for giving me what to use and what not to use.
Can anyone send me a picture of a 4 bar please.
Do a Google image search for “Vex 4 bar linkage.” Plenty of resources online and on these forums.
Thanks!
