Enough of this wallbot nonsense. Project GLaDOS may have failed, but our team is still alive. This is our robot that won the gold division at our pre-worlds scrimmage, and will be competing next week (more or less, it has changed a little). https://vexforum.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=7395&stc=1&d=1365727113
Stats:
6 motor 1:1.6 high speed tank drive - fast and powerful
2 motor 7:1 torque lift - max capacity 18 sacks
2 motor metal chainsaw intake (inspired by 2915A’s June robot) with piston-operated polycarb offsetting table
-Quickly gathers sacks from anywhere on the field (5-1-5 in one swoop, same with wallsacks)
-Scores all goals
-Descores all goals
-Gathers all sacks from a 14-15 inch wide section of trough into intake in 3-4 seconds
-Does not get stuck on sacks
-Variable autonomous
-Retuned and ready to go on mats treated with anti-static spray
The goal of this robot was to have a design with all the abilities of a “NZ robot” but also have a six motor drive for strength and general reliability and robustness. I think we pulled it off quite nicely.
Please stop spreading the “NZ bot” idea…
For starters, there aren’t really any identical “NZ bots” anywhere. It’s not like they started the 4 bar and top roller (which this is) and everyone started copying.
We have found our robot twin. This is kind of freaky.
Exact same gear ratio on the drive, lift, and intake.
Same motor allocation and same exact intake bars (partially since we were inspired )
unfortunately I don’t have any pictures to compare with/share. Our chassis is pretty different though, and we used a six bar.
Yeah, we didn’t want to redesign to the 4 bar because it would have required a full on drive change. It gets a little extra power from pistons to make up for the extra length of the six bar. How well does your chassis do at driving over sack piles or do you not feel like its enough of an issue to worry about?
Glados was cool; too bad another special robot wasn’t finished I always like to watch the matches those kind of robots compete in at worlds.
Your new robot will definitely do well at worlds. I like all the videos because they really help in explaining the robot’s functionality.

I think General Reggie was commenting on the bolded section of the quote from Owen.
