6078S Elevator

Now that worlds is over I would like to share with the community our first robot design this season. It was a 5 section elevator lift built from linear motion pieces, screws, spaces, and small sections of c channels and 26 feet of chain. Our goal was to make it light and simple. We ended up having to build two elevators that face each other to prevent tipping. The problem with this design was that it only had 1 cube capacity and was not very efficient. We ended up winning the excellence award at the Indianapolis City Tournament with this design which qualified us for worlds. We then rebuild our robot to be more competitive with a reverse double four bar for worlds. At worlds we didn’t do that well with a 2-7-1 record.
