Makes sense. It must be frustrating to spectate from the little red dot ![]()
Not frustrated at all.
I just want to make sure my teams are well versed in the dos and donts when we are in worlds.
But⦠you mean⦠you know why it is an event-dq and not just a normal match-DQ?
hypothetically, you can have a stated match DQ as you stated, you can also have an event DQ due to specific actions at event, or repeated actions the culminate in an event DQ and even future event DQ. These situations are usually handled discretely on a case by case basis, and no blanket statement, other than the ones already made in the rule book in <G1> and <S1> need be made.
As mentioned, we are very far away from the situation and should move on.
I understand that part.
Of course, none of us have any idea what really transpired in the event, any warning given, etc.
Again, looking at the results⦠there wasnāt any DQ issued before the SF.
Guess only 62a will know if there was prior warnings given to them.
I am just trying to figure out how a DQ for an SG violation ends up being an event DQ. What in the world did they do that prompted that harsh of an action?
I was at the event and to clarify what i remember happening is that there was a double DQ for both 1 and 4 ranked alliances but 6007x was DQ completely out of their spot for worlds because they drilled into their Pneumatics tanks but team 62 was still qualified for worlds because all they did was play illegal defensive in there match. I still donāt understand what 62 could be getting their worldās spot removed for. Iām a big fan of 62.
Mogo hoarding is legal
Pushing enemy mogos from 3 sides is legal
The teams made no attempts to grab the cones, so 62a wasnāt hoarding cones
Just because it looks sketchy and mean doesnāt make it worth a DQ.
I know that isnāt the debate here, but I just want to say that this DQ was actually a really bad decision in the first place.
Anyone has the match recording in question?
I was at Pomona and I believe that 62 was disqualified from the tournament with the G1 hammer, in that the were probably arguing with the refs and they thought their behavior was inappropriate. I believe that being dqued from a tournament does take away your worlds ticket, however I know for a fact that this decision took days to figure out.
62a has always been polite and respectful when I have delt with them (inspection, skills, etc.). I would be surprised if that was the case. I wish we had some more info, but posting our opinions/theories wonāt advance the actual debate
The angle is not the best to see what really happened. But it is pretty good video to have a sense of what happened.
Thanks for the video ![]()
just for the match⦠not any view of the discussion that ensued.
yup⦠just for the match - and i didnt say anything that extrapolate beyond the match as well.
think what we can see is that whatever happened in the match doesnāt seem likely to be the cause of the event-DQ.
And anything that was after the match will be between the team and the EP/referees - only they will know what really happened.
@lacsap hope you understand - i am not here to finger-point at anyone or even trying to defend 62a. Just purely to understand the reason behind this event-DQ. And as I have mentioned quite a few times, so that we all can learn from it.
After watching the video, I am more confused than ever. I did not see any illegal defense by the blue alliance. On the other hand, one of the red alliance robots placed a cone on one of the blue alliance robots and then the two red alliance robots worked in tandem to keep the blue alliance robot from accessing part of the field. Furthermore, the red alliance robot nearly pushed the blue alliance robot into the red alliance 10 point zone without any attempt to score. There should have been a warning there. I am not from CA and have no skin in the game but I have read through all the Q&A on what is and what is not legal defense and blocking a team from their mobile goals is totally allowed.
<G1> or an event DQ of any kind was never on the table, during or after the event. It wasnāt until 62 questioned why they werenāt included as semi-finalists on robotevents that an event DQ was mentioned.
No⦠I was not actually at the event. But I am familiar with the California region. Obviously, I have questions just like everyone else⦠What I meant is⦠it must be frustrating to have so few events so early in the season (to my knowledge) and then go to the US-dominated Worlds where rules and interpretations have evolvedā¦
Correct me if Iām wrong ![]()
Your video isnāt availableā¦
I think it got deleted or made private.
