Imgur: The magic of the Internet This one is a little old

Our Robot:
Drive Train: 4 393’s internally geared for speed
Arm System: 4 393’s geared internally for speed with a 1:15 compound gear ratio
Scoop: 2 393’s geared internally for torque with a 1:5 gear ratio
The final gears on both the arm and scoop are using the inside of a turntable

Our Capabilities:

  • 3 Autonomous on each side (highest scoring 45)
  • Super-Fast Scoring(Trough and High Goal)
  • Super-Fast Descoring (We can empty a trough in less than 5 seconds)
  • Capacity: Can Lift 10 - 12

Sensors:

  • 2 Potentiometers: The scoop and arm have potentiometer’s on them to help control the entire system. This makes this robot super easy to drive.
  • 2 Quad Encoders: To monitor the Drive
  • 2 Gyro Sensors: Allows for accurate turning with our drive train.
  • 1 Accelerometer: Help with PID on the drive
  • 1 LCD Screen: Autonomous Selector; helps to monitor battery voltage

Season Details:
60 - 4 Record
1 Excellence Award
4 Tournament Champions
Robot Skills: 200
Programming Skills: 90
(We score much higher in both now)

I like the D.

p.s. (those pics are massive)

Whoa, those pics are gigantic! Could you make them a little smaller?

The detail shows a very exacting and quality build. Nice job!

Can you descore/rescore?

We descore the sacks onto the floor. Usually getting 3 or 4 left on the scoop. However, we are then able to pick up the entire stack of descored sacks 2 - 3 seconds later.

“the entire stack”? Is that even reasonable? So you are saying if you descore a full trough, you can pick up the descored sacks on the floor, fit them in your intake 2-3 sec. later? That is one big task!

Do you have a video of this?

Yes, our spatula can simply slide under the sacks and lift them. That’s why we can pick up the entire stack but if there’s more than 15 sacks then we have to do it in 2 pieces but, either way we can do it extremely quickly.

And sorry but we’re not releasing videos for strategical reasons, since most of our videos are during match play.

OK. I understand that you can slide right under them. A full trough usually has 25+ objects in it. From what I have read, you don’t really like “stressing” your arm so you do smaller loads.

I guess I’ll have to come watch a few of your Worlds matches  Good luck.

Just found some videos of 675: Carrollton VEX Qualifier Quarterfinals Match 1-1 - YouTube

Here are multiple vids: http://www.youtube.com/user/GSMSTRobodragons67B?feature=watch

looks like a great performer. I love the simplicity. I’m surprised that there are not more spatula bots like this.
