My team is trying to make an eight bar lift for skyrise and we can’t seem to find any right lengths of metal to make it up to he 47 in post. So we want to know what lengths of metal are you using if you’re building an eight bar.
This should get you all the height you need . . .

(over 60")
All of the vertical c-channels are 35 holes. In order from bottom to top the lengths of the non-vertical c-channels are 34 holes, 40, 40, and 32 holes.
We aren’t actually using this, by the way, because we wanted a lift that gives linear (at at least nearly linear) lifting. An 8-bar that can reach the higher goals will also reach a long ways out in front of the robot when it’s about halfway up, so you may want to reconsider.
Also, in general when you are trying to figure out what lengths work, play around in Autodesk Inventor for hours and hours. Eventually you’ll see a pattern or at least stumble across something that works.](https://app.box.com/s/j62oaz25siktbwfhoz4y)
OMG Thank You so much!!! I owe you one man.
Your welcome!
Does this fit within the 18" limit because it looks like it doesn’t.
Yes, according to Inventor it does.

You may have to shave down the corners a little, though.
Another quick question what is the spacing used when aligning the different sets of bars. I can’t seem to find the right orientation.
I’m not sure what you mean. There are (center) 6 holes in between linkage connection points on the vertical bars. Is that what you were asking?
If I have time I’ll post our CAD later today or tomorrow.
You will have to shave the tops and bottoms off of several of the bars in this CAD configuration. Its better to assemble the whole lift and mount your intake before you go shaving here and there. We always wait till we have a working bot before we trim.
That’s what I was basically talking about the spacing between the vertical bars.
Also the horizontal bar spacing would be nice.
This should make counting the holes fairly easy. Let me know if you want a different position or something.
There are 7 center holes in between the middle two vertical linkages. As in: ●◌◌◌◌◌◌◌● with ●=screw linking c-channels & ◌=hole that does not link c-channels
