Pneumatics? That looks like a flywheel to me. I’ll be awaiting a full reveal so I can see closer.

The pneumatics are being used to change the hood angle of the flywheel so that they can get a really fast double shot.

That robot is incredibly fast at scoring flags, problably one of the fastest double shots in the world. I love seeing what things teams do with a simple flywheel and a little creativity, its awesome!
But on a side note: Why not do 1:1 200(or 100) RPM angle changing hood and have a mechanical stop while having a P control loop(not PID because it would burnout with a mechanical stop), so you can allocate an extra motor for something like scoring or descoring caps?

That’s a great question. We chose pneumatics so we could have 3 independent functions. The hood, the indexer, and a cap flipper on the back.

That pneumatic hood changer is really cool! Seems like something @Xenon27 might like.

Mm? Oh yeah really cool. I have to wonder, why pneumatics? Couldn’t it have been done with one motor, then have an extra motor.

I did that because other than a hood, I had two pieces I wanted to build. An indexer and a cap flipper. I designed this robot before 240p revealed their scraper/feeder and didn’t think of it myself. I found that pneumatics were the easiest way to have several little functions rather than a motor which could only do one or do something weird off of a ratchet. Also I think pneumatics are just one of the fastest ways to change angles

plus who doesn’t want to rep that pneumatics gang? :sunglasses:
