How reliable are your auton routines?
From what your video shows, your brake seems to have a lot of screws sticking into the mat.
I’m wondering about how this does not damage the mat if it doesn’t already?
Love the brake. It’s a more elegant alternative than the skyrise turntables teams have been doing. I’m also wondering how you don’t damage the tiles. Is it just a combination of the spread out pressure and the flexibility of the high strength gear?
we tested our auton’s Saturday and got the following results testing 12 times in a row each.
3 skyrise auto - 100%
10 point cube - 92% (it still got 6 points on the one time it missed)
4 skyrise auto (not in video) - about 70% (this is why we went with 3)
we also have one that scores a cube on the post and 2 cubes on any size skyrise- never failed in competition.
We also have 3 other strategic autonomous options that we will not disclose at this time.
The main reason the brake does not damage the mats is that the programming restrains the chassis from moving forward and back while the brake is down.

This is precisely why we have almost 2 dozen screws instead of just a few. any noticeable indent that the brake makes in the mat becomes unrecognizable in just a couple minutes. We rarely use the brake in user control but can if needed.
