9V Battery + motor

Sometimes when digging through old two-wire motors, we’d stick a 9v battery with cable onto a motor to test if it’s still live and kicking.

Does this hurt the poor little motor in any way? Could somebody with an understanding of the microcontroller explain how the signal sent to the motor is different from using a battery?

No, just don’t run it for too long, even then it’s probably fine. I do the same thing.

It’s too late for a long explanation tonight, but you could start by reading this.

Well with the processor it is only giving out 7 volt bursts but with a higher flow so they are about the same power and the way that the signal it transferred by bursts from the controller based on the program and not on your hands
