A few quick questions about fling and the superkit

Hi guys

Does anyone know if the vex iq gen 2 competition kit is allowed in this tournament? Also, does anyone know the exact dimensions of fling? Thanks!

For any question about the legality of something, we must turn to the game manual (or the Official Q&A). (https://content.vexrobotics.com/docs/21-22/pitching-in/GameManual.pdf), For components, please refer to R7 in the manual. Regarding “Fling”, it will generally meet the requirements of rule G4 if built according to the plans.

After you have had a chance to read the game manual yourself, feel free to post additional questions if more clarification is needed.

Yes, the gen 2 kit is allowed in tournaments. I researched this, and while it might not have been neccessary due to the fact that Vex runs the tournaments and Vex sells the robots. Anyhow, you might want to check with your coach or another team to see what their opinion is on it.

VEX does not run any tournaments – local events and state/regional championships are run by local volunteers called “event partners” under the supervision of the REC Foundation, which is the nonprofit that runs the VEX IQ Challenge. For Worlds, RECF is the event partner.

But yes, Gen 2 IQ gear is legal for use in VIQC; you can confirm this by taking a look at the “VIQC legal” text near the top of the relevant product pages on vexrobotics.com.
