A totally dumb question about RobotC seat expiration date

We have a 6-seat license for RobotC that is destined to expire in a few weeks. I’ve used only 5 of the seats, so here’s my dumb question: what happens when the license expires?

Do all the seats suddenly shut down, thereby disabling our ability to access and edit, etc. our RobotC programs? Or do our 5 seats keep operating normally but I’m just no longer eligible for updates, etc. and my 1 unused seat becomes forever lost?

Every thing will work except it won’t let you upload to the cortex. Updates I’m not sure about, but you will still be able to write edit your code.

Yeah my free trial expired a few days ago and that is exactly what happened. I was able to write code, but I couldn’t upload anything to the cortex. It is pretty much just a notepad to write your code in after it expires.

I assume from what you’ve said it’s an annual license. If so, yes, all 6 expire (according to the ROBOTC web page). Perpetual license’s are generally a better buy if you plan on using ROBOTC for more than 2 years.

Okay, thanks everyone. I guess I had better make sure this stuff gets updated. I’d hate to have it become non-functional one day before a tournament or something.
