If the flywheel does not have this effect, does this mean that our shooter is too slow/weak? Because a lot of teams have been encountering this problem except for us, and it makes me question if it’s because we did not build our flywheel well enough that it doesn’t travel at the speed fast enough to have the crack effect on the gears.
How fast is your flywheel? I don’t think all flywheels have this problem
We use a 28:1 ratio (just like 8059)
Did they have any problems with breaking gears?
I know that we had a 21 to one gear ratio and even we had tearing gear problems, part of the reason you may not have this problem is that maybe you are using smaller wheels (we are using the 5 in wheels) also, our gear tearing problem had nothing to do with sudden stops.
what we think happened is that because the motor that had the gear break was a normal motor, and the other three were speed geared, the other three motors were spinning faster and stressed the gear, they actually broke all the teeth off one motor gear and made it perfectly smooth
