Advice to Give Students on the Interview

We practice for the interview using the rubrics. The students will sometimes act as the judge and interview a team then score them. A common occurrence is that the “judge” fails to ask about an area in the rubric. (E.g. project management ) and so can’t really score the team on that. I’m sure this occurs “for real” in tournaments with real judges.

I tell my team to be familiar with the rubric and try to work in parts the judges might not get around to asking about. I think they’d like something more concrete. Anyone have better tips they are willing to share?
