Age requirement

Some of our team members are studying Grade 9 at a secondary school (which covers grades 8-12 here). In this case, can you clarify if a 14 year old 9th grader is allowed? They will turn 15 next August.

Unfortunately these students would be ineligible to participate in the VEX IQ Challenge. This is indicated in the definition of a Student in the VEX IQ Challenge Highrise Game Appendix.

Any Student who is 13 years or under as of April 23rd, 2015 is eligible to be on a VEX IQ team. Any Student who is 14 years of age on April 23rd, 2015 is only eligible if enrolled in the 8th grade or lower. Any Student 15 years of age or older on April 23rd, 2015 is ineligible.

There is an exception for 9th graders who are attending a 7-9 Middle School, however this exception does not apply for 9th graders who attend an 8-12 secondary school like yours.
