New to V5. I am wondering if we need the air pressure regulator for mogo mech for high stake? Does that make the mogo weaker?
If you add enough extra air it won’t make it weaker. Technically, it could even be used to store some more air.
I believe this would be a violation of <R23>:
The intent of <R23a> and <R23b> is to limit Robots to the air pressure stored in two reservoir tanks, as well as the normal working air pressure contained in their pneumatic cylinders and tubing on the Robot. Teams may not use other elements for the purposes of storing or generating air pressure.
Using cylinders or additional pneumatic tubing solely for additional storage is in Violation of the spirit of this rule. [emphasis mine] Similarly, using pneumatic cylinders and/or tubing without any air reservoirs is also in Violation of the spirit of this rule.
Lower air pressures provide more actuations of your air cylinders.
Yes, that is why I said “technically”. I remember viewing the Q&A about this.
Viewer people, don’t try to store extra air with extra tubing or equipment.
The air pressure regulator for the mogo clamp is not required. However, I would strongly encourage that you use one if you are using the same air tank with more than just the mogo mechanism. This is because you could tune and set a specific PSI output to the pistons for the mobile goal clamp, but also have a higher or lower set pressure for any other subsystem that you have that uses pneumatics. I hope this helped! Let me know if you have any more questions.
random but do QNAs from previous seasons still apply when it comes to non specific game rules and the rule itself hasn’t majorly changed.
