ALL time favorite videos

I’m looking to collect some of the “best” Vex videos of all time, and my problem is not a lack of videos, but that there are far too many to sift through in limited time. I’d like to find out your favorites, with some qualifiers:

  1. No more than 5 videos from any one person
  2. You can’t suggest or recommend a video featuring or produced by your team (the standard of “best” sometimes varies when applied to one’s self :))
  3. You can +1 someone else’s submission

The videography and editing should be decent, but “good robotics” trumps good production. I’m hoping that my final list includes:

  1. A variety of mechanisms
  2. A variety of games from different years
  3. A combination of some matches and some “instructional” (how the robot works) videos.

I’ll start with a few of my favorites:

  1. 1103’s Round-up bot: U.S. Nationals Vex Robotics Competition - Team 1103 120pt Robot Skills Challenge - YouTube Epic!
  2. 3018’s Round-up bot: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Ik9Mt8uLMQ&feature=related Love the educational value of this.
  3. Catapults from Clean Sweep: [VEX Cleansweeep, GaTSA Qualifer, 1235A - West Forsyth, member of the Forsyth Alliance F1-1 - YouTube These may not be legendary, but they’re fun to watch.](VEX Cleansweeep, GaTSA Qualifer, 1235A - West Forsyth, member of the Forsyth Alliance F1-1 - YouTube These may not be legendary, but they’re fun to watch.)

Have you looked through these?

My own favorite VEX video is this recording of some Cheesy Poofs team members watching 575 in action in the 2009 World Championship. It’s my son’s robot, but at least you can’t say it’s mine.

As a bonus, this is my second-favorite video from that season.

I relly enjoyed watching these guy’s! Once you get past the shakey video of the first segment it’s pretty good.

This has to be my favorite VEX video. It’s from NZ nationals during round up. The match starts one minute into the video.

Scoring on all the goals, descoring, base dumping, and an epic double high hang at the end. What more could you ask for?

This video led to widespread use of the NZ design.

Also I enjoyed this video.

Yeah, Sorry about that shakey part  I lost my memory card which had our first 3 competitions recorded, and I was stupid enough not to move the files to a computer…

But my favorite video has to be this video.

I can tell you that my mind was blown when I saw this video of green eggs. A brilliant design if you ask me.

I don’t have the links, but 1103’s Programming Skills, Driver Skills, and his explanation video (where he explains to the attendees of a tournament his design) are all incredible.

Here they are:

Robot Skills (US Nationals): U.S. Nationals Vex Robotics Competition - Team 1103 120pt Robot Skills Challenge - YouTube
Programming Skills (US Nationals): http://youtu.be/DvTzVi32BWo (This is an amazing skills run)

Don’t forget about these awesome middle-schoolers last year… that driving was insane.

Slightly off topic but you may enjoy some of these.

i agree, there are so many videos out there … ages ago i sent the teams i mentored useful information, and video links to good matches/designs etc … i stopped doing it because it used to take me ages to sort and find my favourite videos of the week … but competition videos make the best videos

yup… and this year, they have already cleared 300 for robot skills…

To add on to the MIT’s impact on robotics competition, who can forget about Class 2.007…
