Another UK Robot

Hi,
We hope this comes out OK, as this is our first ever post to the Vex forum!

Some of you might remember some past teams from Cheshunt School, such as the Cheshunt Stags, from the elevation season?

We are the latest team from Cheshunt, and will be coming to the USA for the World Championships in a couple of days time. (We won the UK Excellence Award)

Anyway we thought that we would publish a few details of our robot, for anyone who might be interested:

Drive:****
4x269 motors, directly driving four, 4 inch omni-wheels.

Lift:****
2x393 motors, and a 15:1 gear ratio, for higher torque.
Four bar lift, which allows us to score the high goal using match loads.

Spatula:****
2x393 motors, and a 5:1 ratio.
Has a maximum capacity of six sacks.

30" Goal Scorer:
1x393 motor, 7:1 gear ratio.
Can score up to six match loads on the high goal.

30" Goal Descorer:
1x393 motor
We can descore the opposing alliances high goal, into our trough, from our own side of the field

Probably won’t be winning a World Championship any time soon but can, (unofficially), score about 100-120 points in a robot skills run. Good at descoring the troughs too.

(Sorry for the rather bad, and slightly old picture, nobody thought to take any more before we packed our robot up. I guess it shows the basics though.)

A quick shout out to our friends at the John Warner School too, who qualified for the World’s with a superb robot and team, but unfortunately cannot attend.

Thanks, see you in Anaheim.
The excitement is building here in the UK.

Hello ! nice robot ! i remember you guys from the previous UK National events

so everything is working again  (BRILLIANT)

you guys have a good chance, brilliant high goal scorer and descore system, you guys deserved to win the excellence award

good luck at worlds, look forward to the next game and seeing you at regional/national events

Looking good guys, you have been good competition throughout the year so the best of luck at worlds, and you high goal de-scorer could be a big asset.

Maybe we can have an all UK match in the practise arenas at some point

Thanks guys.

Don’t know whether you have seen our twitter account lately, but it turns out we competed in the quarter and semi-finals at the Excel with no drive on the left hand side of our robot, which is why we could only really drive left  Oh well, it was fun.

Luckily though we have fixed our issues now.

The all UK match sounds like a good idea. (Hopefully with no more 2 on 1’s. Virus, you know what we mean. That match was such good fun though, probably the fastest paced match at the Nationals.)

We have really enjoyed competing against both of you over the course of the year, it’s definitely been the best year in the UK thus far.

Also teams Glitch and Virus are currently drawn on five trophies each I think, which is the most for any single team in the UK over the past year, although please correct us if we are wrong  This could be the decider for the Sack Attack season.

Also, well done to Virus for remaining undefeated in the UK for a second year. The Cheshunt teams went undefeated a few years ago for a couple of years, so next year’s going to be great. Really competitive

Good luck for the World Championships/next year.

We look forward to seeing you soon.
