Answered: 393 Motor high speed configuration

I had thought that it was legal to swap out the internal gears in the 393 motors for the included high speed gears to make it go 60% faster with the same power as a normal 269 motor, but <R15> states that motors cannot be modified in any way. I am confused. I thought that many teams change these gears on the motors, but is it actually illegal in competitions?

a. Motors, extension cords, sensors, controllers, battery packs, and any other electrical component of the VEX Robotics Design System may NOT be altered from their original state in ANY way.”

Changing the gears out of a motor with legal VEX replacement gears is an exception to this rule. Sorry about the confusion.
