This is Patapsco Punishers team 6274 from Dundalk, Md. For the competition this year Nothing But Net we were wondering are we allowed to 3D print pieces for the robot?

3D printed parts are not part of the VEX EDR product line and they are not specifically allowed under <R7>, which lists the allowed “non-VEX” components. Thus 3D printed parts are not legal for use as functional components of VRC Nothing But Net Robots. That being said, they could be used as non functional decorations as per <R7d>. See below for the quoted rule.

<R7> Robots are allowed the following additional “non-VEX” components:
d. Teams may add non-functional decorations provided that these do not affect the robot performance in any significant way or affect the outcome of the match. These decorations must be in the spirit of the competition. Inspectors will have final say in what is considered “nonfunctional”.
