Just a hypothetical question…
Lets say in the alliance selection process that 1st seed team asked the 2nd seed to alliance with them, and the 2nd seed says no. Then 1st seed went on to ask the 3rd seed and so on and so on, and they all said no. What would happen ?? Probably never happen but if it did…

You’re right, this probably will never happen. In this extremely unlikely scenario, the team would play without partners, and all declining teams would be ineligible to be selected.
So if that scenario played out, you would have the first 8 seed teams in 1 on 1(no alliances) matches right?
