Answered: Are Extended Indicator lights illegal?

I was wanting to ask if extended indicator lights would interfere with the <R6>/<R7> rules. These lights would be built by my team with its only function being to indicate what driving mode our robot is in. From my knowledge, vex does not carry any extended indicator lights, only the lights that plug directly into the cortex. So the conflict I see is that these lights would add functionality and would not be made from vex parts. Breaking the <R7> rule. Thank you for the help in advance.

As you noted, VEX does not sell any type of ‘extended indicator lights’, so any unofficial (functional) solution would be a violation of <R5> and <R7>. However, official VEX LED Indicators can be wired with 2-Wire Extension Cables to achieve a similar result using legal components.
