Hello I have some questions about the autonomous period of a competition :

1. How long does it last?
2. Do you get the preload before the autonomous?
3. Are you allowed to put your robot facing any direction on the starting tile?
4. In the autonomous do you only score points from putting the cubes on the poles or can you get them from pushing cubes into the starting tile?

Hello I have some questions about the autonomous period of a competition :

1. How long does it last?

Autonomous Period – A 15-second (0:15) time period when the Robots operate and react only to sensor inputs and to commands pre-programmed by the team into the onboard Robot control system.

As you can see from the above quoted manual section, the Autonomous Period is 15 seconds long.

2. Do you get the preload before the autonomous?

Preload – The one (1) Cube each team must place on the field such that it is touching its Robot, not touching any grey foam tiles or the Skyrise Base, and fully within the field perimeter prior to each Match.

As you can see from the above quoted manual section, you do get your Preload prior to the Match.

3. Are you allowed to put your robot facing any direction on the starting tile?

There is no restriction on which direction your Robot can face.

4. In the autonomous do you only score points from putting the cubes on the poles or can you get them from pushing cubes into the starting tile?

All forms of Scoring, including pushing Cubes into the Floor Goal, are counted during the Autonomous Period.
