Answered: Battery connections on VEXnet upgrade

A while ago the battery connections in the VEXnet upgrade became loose causing the VEXnet to lose connection whenever the cables were moved or wiggled. One of the team members fixed the problem by soldering a new cable into the VEXnet upgrade and then joining the original cable onto the end (as shown in the image below). Is this legal for the competition?

No, this would be a violation of <R15a> and <R15b> of the VEX Round Up Game Manual, quoted below.

<R15> Parts may NOT be modified as follows:
a. Motors, extension cords, sensors, controllers, battery packs, and any other electrical component of the VEX Robotics Design System may NOT be altered from their original state in ANY way.
b. Welding, soldering, brazing, gluing, or attaching in any way that is not provided within the VEX Robotics Design System will NOT be allowed.
