Answered: Can we use website content management tools?

This came in via email, but we felt the question is of common interest.

Hello, I am from Toppenish High School from Toppenish Washington. This is my school’s first year joining VEX Robotics Online Challenges, and we have a question regarding the second requirement for the EMC Robotics Team/Club Website Challenge.

“The Website must have been designed and programmed by students in your VRC robotics program.”

Can we use websites like webs.com that provide layouts and all you must do is enter your information and mess around with the graphics until one is pleased??

Or do we have to use programs like Adobe Dream Weaver and program every single graphic, layout, and desighn used in our site.

Please respond quickly, because our team is half way with both of these sites and would like to know which one to drop and which one to finish and turn in… Thank you!!

You can use a content management system to create your website. The judges will look at how well you use the tools available to make it your site, and not just a template with some facts typed in.
