Answered: Clarification of Preload

The definition of preloads state that the game pieces must be placed within the game in a legal starting position. Does this mean that the preloads are mandatory for each game? Also, if the preload was not starting in the field when the match began, is it not allowed to enter the playing field during any point of the match?

Let’s take a look at the definition of Preload from the VEX Toss Up Game Manual. I’ve bolded some text for emphasis:

From the definition, you can see that the Preloads are mandatory. The match will not start without the Preloads being placed on the field.
