Answered: Clarification on <SG6>: Is the entire tile off-limits, or only part of it?

Hi Karthik,

The rule <SG6> reads as follows (emphasis mine):

It seems to me as there is a little ambiguity in what the bolded part means. I could see it being either:

A. “The foam tiles that are in a robot’s own Zones may not be contacted at all by the robot.” - IE, tiles partially in the zone are completely off-limits.

B. “The portions of the foam tiles that are in a robot’s own Zones may not be contacted at all by the robot.” - IE, only the part of the tile actually in the zone is off-limits.

Essentially, is it legal for a robot on the blue side to make contact with the green area and/or the purple area in the attached picture?

I am probably over-reading the rules, but I would much rather be safe than sorry. Thank you in advance!

“B” is the correct interpretation.

Yes, both the green and purple areas in your diagram are not in the Blue Zones, thus a Blue Robot may contact them.
