Answered: Clarification on VUR2c (3D Printed Parts)

The rule states you are allowed:

An unlimited number of plastic 3D printed parts, each less than 3" x 6" x 6"

However this doesn’t address what plastics you may use or what you may do to those plastics. The question on types of plastic has already been asked, so my question is are you allowed to use external processes to improve these parts such as annealing or epoxy infiltration?

External processes such as the two you’ve described would be legal. Minor modifications such as filing, deburring, and acetone baths are also legal. Major modifications such as milling 3D printed parts are not permitted.
