Answered: Clause 1 of the definition of scored

Once a scoring object has been scored by clause one, it can’t be moved so that it is no longer scored.

However, the rules do not prohibit manipulating clause-one scored object so that it is still scored, but no longer by clause 1. They instead prohibit “removing” objects.

  • If a scoring object that has been scored by clause one is moved (presumably legally) so that is is partially above the top of the PVC pipes of its goal, can it then be moved so that it is also partially outside the outer ring of that goal?

  • If a scoring object has been scored by clause one, can it legally be moved so that it is completely above the top of the PVC pipes of its goal, but still scored?

Please see the updated version of the <SG9>, quoted below for your convenience.

This clarified version of the rule states that once an object is Scored under clause 1, it’s value can never be changed, even if you do it in multiple stages as you suggest.

Yes, this would be legal, since the Scoring Object’s value would not be altered.

If you were to lift a clause one scored object out of a goal like this, and then an opposing robot rammed you and the object moved completely outside the outer ring of the goal or partially within the outer ring of another goal (and was descored) what would happen?

You would be disqualified under <SG9>.

To sum things up in simple terms, if you start moving scoring objects that are clause 1 Scored you are responsible for whatever happens to them.
