In the college competition we are allowed to use custom metal - steel or aluminum sheet

c. One (1) sheet of Steel OR Aluminum no larger than 12” x 12” and no thicker than 1/16”.

We are wondering if there are any restrictions on the surface finish or treatment of this metal - we have got our hands on some galvanised steel that is really nice and slippery, but we want to know if this would be considered legal (technically it isn’t pure steel of course).
