  During the Autonomous Period human operators will not be allowed to use their hand-held controllers.*

I was wondering what the expected enforcement of the above rule will be (thinking ahead specifically to Nationals/Worlds). Should the operators be watched to make sure they aren’t using their controllers or do you anticipate more of a proactive approach such as having operators place their controllers on the ground until drivers mode.

Referees should check to make sure Drivers are not interacting with their controls during the Autonomous Period. One way to do this is to have all drivers hold their joysticks such that the buttons are facing away from them. They should also keep the Joystick in a position where it’s easy for the referees to verify that no controls are being touched.
