During one of the practices, a mobile goal some how ended up resting on a cone that was in the 20-point zone.
Part of the mobile goal was resting on the 2" pipe while the other part of it was resting on the cone.
I have attached a photo showing the actual situation.
There was a dispute on whether the mobile goal should be counted as in the 20-point zone.
Based on the definition of Scored - Note 3, my guess was that it should be counted as in the 20-point zone (even though it was not touching the floor tile in the 20-point zone.
Since the cone (which is a scoring object) was supporting the mobile goal, and if the cone was removed, the mobile goal will definitely fall into the 20-point zone, hence the mobile goal should be counted as in the 20-point zone.
Update 8/25/17 - After further review, we need to provide a revision to this Q&A post.
The full definition of Scored is quoted below for reference:
The first criteria for determining where a Mobile Goal is Scored is to see if it is contacting any Goal Zones. Note 3 only applies if a Mobile Goal is not contacting any Goal Zones. The Mobile Goal in this image is contacting the large pipe, which is part of the 10 Point Zone. Thus, this Goal would be scored in the 10 Point Zone, regardless of where it would go if the supporting object was removed.
