Does Vex have a answer this?
My droid will weigh about 200lbs and I need something to shut him down.

Are you only using VEX parts? If not, what VEX parts are you using?
I’m using the Vex splitter right now and it’s connected to a Syren 10 motor controller.
I’ve heard horror stories about lost signal from the transmitter and without a failsafe
the motor keeps going.
I could use my Vex Micro instead, If that makes a difference.

Not sure how non-VEX parts operate and therefore can not comment. When the VEX Microcontroller looses signal, the VEX Motors will shut off. With your robot on blocks, you should test what happens when you turn the Transmitter Off.
